Forced Healing
I've been nursing the cracks
Feeling my way through the dark
Feeling my way through the pain
I don't want this heart to heal again
I've been hiding for so long
Getting used to the pain
I have always thought
I was meant to fade away
As I hold that thought
I thought I could fade into the pain
But fate had a different script for me
And somehow I'm being pushed out of the rain
I thought I could live with the pain
But healing seems to be knocking again
The dark is the place I've always felt safe
But now I'm being pushed out to face the pain
The peace, the calm, fading away
Slowly slipping out of my grasp
And all I can do
Is watch as light fills the cracks
Why can't I just stay safe?
Why do I have to leave the rain?
I'm already used to the pain
Why do i have to face it again?
Do I have to face the pain?
Do I have to smile again?
I so much want to stay in the dark
Why is the light forcing me out?
Should I just give up now?
Should I just come out to face the pain?
I don't mind hiding away
Why do I have to leave the rain?
I've been nursing the cracks
Feeling my way through the dark
Feeling my way through the pain
Should I let this heart heal again?

The Night In The Rain
On that gloomy quiet night
I was walking home
The quiet, empty street
Felt strangely safe without the lights on
My feelings were like a dying rose
Its petals drooping
Its color faded
Its stalk broken, leaves dead
Typical for nights like this
The silence a sanctuary
Filled with broken shards
Of past memories
Of which I can't be glad
I got no one
Not a soul
To whom I can talk to
About my broken soul
The gloomy weather got worse lightning flashing like a curse
Thunder rumbling, dark clouds rolling in
But I couldn't care less
Until the rain began to pour
I couldn't be bothered to take cover
I've been through worse
Let the rain pour on
I can handle it
The rain drenched me from head to toe
But I couldn't care less
Cuz I'm dealing with a broken soul
Till the rain's rhythm hit a nerve
A broken shard, hidden deep in my heart
The sound of the rain hitting surfaces
Roofs, grass, glass surfaces
Triggered a memory from the past
And my tears flowed at last
The rain stayed with me
The rain cried with me
Warmth I've never felt before
I experienced with nature
I've always thought I was alone
That no one really cared
But nature shows in quiet ways
It's always here
Nature is always the soothing sound of pouring rain
It calms you down
Humans are more like the clanging of metal
They irritate and drain you out
Nature doesn't judge
Nature doesn't laugh at you
It cries with you
Accompanies you
Stays till the end
And I learned that in its own quiet way
Nature helps us pull through
That night in the pouring rain
I learnt that love comes in unexpected ways
Nature always stays with me through
Better than people, I'll say
