Jay Ross

A towering figure in Canadian hip-hop, Jay Ross has spent the past two decades
establishing himself as one of the finest underground artists in the country. In
addition to sharing stages with the biggest names in the genre, he has built up an
exceptionally impressive discography, revealing himself as a vital talent with a
powerful story to tell. Now, with the release of his most compelling material to
date, he is finally on the brink of a well-deserved international breakthrough.
Born legally blind, Jay quickly learned to compensate by developing a mastery of
the English language. “No one can dis my ability,” he once rapped, shutting
down any attempts to underestimate him due to his condition. His wit proved to
be invaluable as he moved through the ranks, earning the respect of his peers
and a legion of loyal listeners.
Already considered a hero and mentor in certain circles, Jay’s profile was raised
significantly by performances with the likes of Busta Rhymes, Phife Dawg,
Naughty by Nature, and Run DMC. He has since been nominated for multiple
Juno awards, and become a pillar of his local community. A one of a kind artist,
Jay Ross is poised to be a fixture in the hip-hop world for years to come.
