About
- I'm a songwriter looking to collaborate with other like-minded songwriters.
- I'm a songwriter who wants others to record my songs.
- I'm a lyricist looking for musicians to write music to my lyrics.
Redefining what it is to be a Pop artist, with a New Retro sound, off-putting lyrics and a distinctive lower register, I draw upon personal life experiences in my music and also fiction write.
Montreal born, based in Toronto I'm a Pop singer-songwriter by the alias, Melotika. The songs I have written for and sang for range from Pop, Dance-Pop, Synth-Pop, Retro pop, Electropop, Trip-Hop, Deep House, Rock/Alternative, Rap hooks & more.
I am always interested in making the listener think twice while listening to my lyrics. Some phrases are more obvious than others and that's the beauty and magic in songwriting. Everyone feels differently, and lyrics can be interpreted in many different ways.
Communication and understanding your goals and vision is so important to me. Let's get in touch and get creative!
I am open to Ghost writing as well.
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Dancing Without You

Dancing Without You - Written by Melany Yelle-Nikischer (Dance-Pop, Retro Pop)
Oh, Burning up, (Ahhhh) Burning up
I’m dancing without you, Got a new love so true
I had enough, burning up, Oh oh oh
I’m dancing without you, Ain’t got a thing to prove
I had enough, burning up, Oh oh oh
I heard your not feeling right, I heard your not feeling good
I heard that you broke her heart, I heard that you want me back
It’s not optional I’ve gone the other way
Woah quit creepin’ in, move over I say
And I’m sorry that you came
And that you saw me turn away, ay ay (Ahhh)
I’m dancing without you, Got a new love so true
I had enough, burning up, Oh oh oh
I’m dancing without you, Ain’t got a thing to prove
I had enough, burning up, Oh oh oh
I met someone cool to me, just like Sid and Nancy
Honest we were meant to be, our time didn’t mean a thing
A new antidote to sway myself away
Woah I’m loving it, take it any day
And I’m sorry that you came,
And that you saw me turn away, ay ay (Ahhh)
I’m dancing without you, Got a new love so true
I had enough, burning up, Oh oh oh
I’m dancing without you,
Ain’t got a thing to prove I had enough,
burning up, Oh oh oh
Spit me out and chew me in, you got me like 'what’s happening'?
You sold me out so cheapening, out of luck I’m with him
Spin me round and pull me in, the storm is so unsettling
What’s happening, what’s happening, what’s happening
I’m with him
I’m dancing without you, Got a new love so true
I had enough, burning up, Oh oh oh
I’m dancing without you, Ain’t got a thing to prove
I had enough, burning up, Oh oh oh
