About

I'm a songwriter looking to collaborate with other like-minded songwriters.
I'm a songwriter who wants others to record my songs.

I am an independent musician and songwriter living in the Texas Hill Country. I’ve been writing and playing for the past 30 years. I love stripped down acoustic folk and blues music in the singer-songwriter style. Poetry set to music and the rhythm of this wild and crazy universe around us. I love telling stories that touch the heart and mind and connect with the soul. Painting pictures with words and music. Songwriting has always helped me process life and refresh my own spirit. I put these songs out into the world hoping they help others think and feel, and laugh and heal, the same way they’ve done for me.

Lyrics

Did You Follow Me Here (My Reincarnated Dear)?

Folk, Singer-Songwriter

© J. Patrick Sharpe Lyrics and Music by J. Patrick Sharpe Did you follow me here with a love of the eternal kind? Did you follow me here with the rage of one left behind? Did you follow me here like a stream that flows underground? Did you know where you were going was your soul overflowing with a love that just wouldn't come down? Now I love you dear but you shouldn't have scared me that way You haunted my dreams when you appeared to me most every day Did you choose your place well when you were born to your mother that day? Well I thought I was dreaming when I heard your voice screaming from over two hundred miles away Will we still play the game like we did in lifetimes before? Will it still be the same when they don't let us back through the door? Will we linger around like clouds on a rainy spring day? Will we keep our love brewing will we know what we're doing or will we run out of good things to say? So did you follow me here with a love of the eternal kind? Did you follow me here with the rage of one left behind? Did you follow me here like a stream that flows underground? Did you know where you were going was your soul overflowing with a love that just wouldn't come down?
