Lyrics by Alero Peters

[LYRICS]

[Verse 1]
We are all born out of mystery
There was no tale set in stone
As heroes fall away by the wayside
And every sinner stands redeemed
In a lighthouse of mirrors
I remain to be seen
The sun is going down on me
I am sinking beyond the deep
Wherever you are, can you hear my call
I sense your presence in my dreams
Even though I can barely see your face
Are you a God or a man or an angel on earth
Hear me

[Chorus]
Rescue me as I call
Take the lead and let us be
I swear I will follow
I will give myself totally to you
Rescue me as I call
Cross every bridge
I swear I will follow
With no uncertainty
In your wings
I will rest and then fly

[Verse 2]
It never seemed so far-fetched
To place your faith on the unknown
But what do I have to lose now
I have got no ace left up my sleeve
I know the world will think I am a fool
They will just never understand
But my dreams just can't be so wrong
When my discernment seems sound and right
What other clarity do I still need
Tell me so

[Chorus]
Rescue me as I call
Take the lead and let us be
I swear I will follow
I will give myself totally to you
Rescue me as I call
Cross every bridge
I swear I will follow
With no uncertainty
In your wings
I will rest and then fly

[Bridge]
I know that it may seem
That I am losing my mind
They all will dread and fear and
Come up with their own plans
I know the world would want to
Stop me and intervene
But I trust my heart's compass
And that is enough for me

[Chorus]
Rescue me as I call
Take the lead and let us be
I swear I will follow
I will give myself totally to you
Rescue me as I call
Cross every bridge
I swear I will follow
With no uncertainty
In your wings
I will rest and then fly

[Chorus]
Rescue me as I call
Take the lead and let us be
I swear I will follow
I will give myself totally to you
Rescue me as I call
Cross every bridge
I swear I will follow
With no uncertainty
In your wings
I will rest and then fly
With no uncertainty
In your wings
I will rest
And then fly

[Verse 1]
Anytime you are near (anytime you are)
I lose all state of sense
And get swept off my feet
Anytime when

[Verse 2]
It’s not that I don’t
Want you here or close (when I so do)
Cause I can’t breathe when you are gone
Oh, when you are far gone

[Chorus]
So please stay
Even when I'm on the run
Cause I
I'm just a fool in love

[Verse 3]
Something about you
Raptures my soul
You bring my science and faith
To a balance
I go on my heels
Trembling in the cool winds
Of the night
Cause this all feels
So based and good
All good to be true

[Chorus 2]
So please stay
Even when I'm on the run
Cause I
I'm just a fool in love

[Bridge]
Why else do I
Still keep on running
You see my cadence are still right on you
And I know I'm the fool
On the hill for always running
Oh babe with just a little bit more trust
And you will see that you are
My one and only journey’s end

[Chorus]
So please stay
Even when I'm on the run
Cause I
I'm just a fool in love

[Outro]
I know one day
I will be
Brave enough
To hit the breaks
I pray you
Will be always there
Waiting for
Me

[Verse 1]
I am not surprised, not wondering
How did we get here
You were never good at making
The best decisions yeah
You never for once thought of putting me first
Everything you always did
Ended up with me as the third wheel while others
People in your life took the driving sit
If there is something to be learned here
It's that I have overstayed my place
In your show
So the only thing left to do
Is to take that final bow
And just let us go

[Chorus]
This was always the end
And we already saw it coming in foresight
Cause everything you did
Led up to this moment
And I should have walked a long time ago
But I know I am going to be alright
To live for another day
This was always the end
But I am ready to begin again
With somebody who is not meant for another but me

[Verse 2]
But it's not satisfying
That it is you and me and the man high up above
That only knows the truth
The truth about me always been
At the back row while you
Ruled the stage as the showgirl
I am sure Davies Street will wonder
Why the curtains finally fell so fast
But what no one knows is that
It’s been a drawn-out play
And there is nothing left to
Do but bow out with some grace
Before someone gets truly hurt
To the point of no return

[Chorus]
This was always the end
And we already saw it coming in foresight
Cause everything you did
Led up to this moment
And I should have walked a long time ago
But I know I am going to be alright
To live for another day
This was always the end
But I am ready to begin again
With somebody who is not meant for another but me

[Bridge]
I do hope you have that sweet summer time
In folk land with your friends and old flame
Who still has a major jones for you
As you expected me to be a happy tag along
I guess you finally realize
That I am no saint that can endure all your flawed reasonings
At the expense of my heart

[Chorus]
This was always the end
And we already saw it coming in foresight
Cause everything you did
Led up to this moment
And I should have walked a long time ago
But I know I am going to be alright
To live for another day
This was always the end

[Outro]
But I am ready to begin again
With somebody who is not meant
For another but me
And only me
Oh yeah
