What to put in your first message

Short, specific messages get the best response. Say what you have, what you are looking for, and what you would bring to the partnership. For example:

Hi, I am a singer and I am looking for new original songs in a soft pop style. I have a recording setup at home and would be happy to record a demo of anything we write. I liked the melodic feel of your profile. Would you like to talk?

It is normal to message a few people before you hear back, so reach out to several members rather than waiting. Agree credits and ownership early. Our Collaboration Agreement can help. For more, see how to get the best out of Verse-Chorus.
